Drawing and Painting I (Grades 9-12) 5 credits
This course is designed for students who would like to concentrate on improving their drawing and painting
skills. Students will explore styles of drawing and painting throughout art history and will be introduced to
several 2D media and techniques including; graphite, charcoal, pastels, mixed media, watercolor and acrylic.
Emphasis will be placed on developing skills necessary for freehand sketching, rendering, and creative
expression. This is a foundation course for further study in the visual arts. Prerequisite: none
